Reviews:
BT - US electronic stalwart BT, inspired by Sasha's progressive trance, spearheaded the epic house revolution of the mid-'90s. He then went on to mastermind Moby-style poptronica. Here he returns to the sweeping ambience of his early efforts - 'This Binary Universe' has all the hallmarks of a soundtrack or concept album with emotive melodies, lavish arrangements, classical flourishes and such titles as 'All That Makes Us Human Continues'. The new age of epic dance has arrived.
Kylie Minogue - Features the new song 'White Diamond' (co-written with the Scissor Sisters). The Samsara section is awash with Indian sitars and oriental mysteries; her own 'Burning Up' contains a homage to Madonna's 'Vogue'; and 'Kids' features Bono on shared vocals and is positively spine-tingling. Show-girl-power!
Teenager - is the latest creative outlet for Nicholas Littlemore (P'nau). 'Thirteen' is an expansive post-nu-punk trip...beautifully prog-ish, decadent, filthy, freeing & adolescent. Cut Copy meets New Order/Joy Division meets Nine Inch Nails. This is the sound of Sydney fucking New York.
Amy Winehouse - Ella Fitzgerald/Billie Holiday for the new millenium. This new album includes the single 'Rehab'. "Contender for Album of the Year" ~ NME. "The voice of 2007. There's none better" ~ MOJO. "Possibly the best British soul album since Soul II Soul's 'Club Classics Vol. 1'" ~ WORD.
Johhny X - The new Pete Burns (Dead Or Alive): Brash, sexy, loud & confident.
Norah Jones - Back with her third album, it features the laidback & soothing new single 'Wish I Could'. Calm, assured and again, oh so smooth.
Shapeshifter - The signature Shapeshifter sound seems to incorporate everything from drum'n'bass, reggae, dance, pop, hip-hop, dub, jazz and electronica. A breezy blend of Thievery Corporation, Kosheen and Cafe del Mar-like lounge-soul. Dynamic, exciting and intoxicating.
'Happy Feet' Soundtrack - Featuring Prince, Pink, Jason Mraz, Nicole Kidman, and k.d. lang, amongst others.
'Dreamgirls' Soundtrack - With cast performances by Beyonce Knowles, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Hudson and Eddie Murphy.

Lisa Gerrard - The new offering from Dead Can Dance's evocative vocalist. Stunningly beautiful, ethereal and haunting. A must-have for lovers of gorgeously lush soundscapes.
'ElectroCityBreaks' - Music from the television series 'Lonely Planet Six Degrees'...a sonic tour of eight intoxicating cities : Havana, Paris, Mumbai, Kuala Lumpur, Buenos Aires, New York, Singapore & Sydney.
Electric Gypsyland 2 - A collection of reinterpretations/re-inventions of tracks from leading Balkan Gypsy bands, made by notorious fusionists, by several mainstays of the new Balkan club scene, and by more unexpected contributors coming from totally different musical areas. Gypsy music at its most elektro-fying.
Nickodemus & Mariano's 'Turntables On The Hudson Six Remix' - This album is a compilation of remixes of songs from Nickodemus & Mariano's previous albums 'Cleopatra In New York', 'Let It Ride' and 'Free Souls' - combining them with some fresh new mixes burning up the dancefloor. One of New York City's finest homegrown events...remixed.
The Rough Guide to Latin-Arabia journeys to the highly musical region of Latin-America, located somewhere between Cairo and Havana, fusing three of the most popular dance styles: belly dance, salsa and flamenco. A vibrant and playful release that invites you to dance!
Koop - This is their remix album of 'Waltz For Koop'. Features mixes by Dorfmeister, O'Malicious, Nicola Conte and more.
Shukar Collective - Excursions into Balkan Gypsy music...with a modern (yet organic) twist.
~~~
Mousse T - Featuring Inaya Day, Amiel, Roachford, and others...this is dance-pop perfection at its giddy best.
'Essential Urban Bootlegs' - contains club dance remixes of some of the biggest tracks by some of the biggest names in R'n'B - Usher, Run DMC, Black Eyed Peas, Punjabi MC, Eric B & Rakim, and producer Jason Nevins.
DJ So - Progressive house/trance. A true professional in reading the dancefloor, his superb skills in mixing and track selection makes him one of the most fascinating DJs across Japan. Tokyo-tastic!
In The Mix Is Six - Mixed by Hyper and Bass Kleph. An essential collection of Australian and international breaks handpicked and superbly mixed by two of the scene's best. Features Plump DJs, Way Out West, Basement Jaxx, Prodigy, Hook'n'Sling, Meat Katie, and Amiel, amongst others.
~~~
Jamelia's 'Beware Of The Dog' contains elements of 'Personal Jesus' - written & composed by Martin Gore (Depeche Mode)
~~~
'Deja Vu' - A glorious mind-fuck of a film. Worm-holes, time-travel, space-time collapses, & paradoxes, as well as being a tense crime thriller. Certain to be even better the second time around...(ha ha)
'Dreamgirls' - Vibrant, moving, colourful and spectacular. Great songs and a marvelous cast : Beyonce Knowles, Eddie Murphy, Jamie Foxx, Danny Glover, and especially...ex-American Idol contestant Jennifer Hudson. She was simply show-stopping.
'Stranger Than Fiction' - Karen Eiffel is an author writing her latest novel about an isolated man named Harold Crick. What she doesn't know is that her fictionalized character is real. The real Harold Crick is an IRS agent who has lived a dull existence and one day begins to hear Karen's voice as she narrates what she puts on paper to what Harold has and is doing. Because of this Harold enlists the help of a literary professor to find out what is happening and ends up changing things about his life. Harold, however, finds trouble when he hears that Karen plans to kill him. ~ A few glaring inconsistencies, but on the whole quite enjoyable. A fascinating story that could have been done a whole lot better by say, a team like Charlie Kaufman & Michael Gondry.
'Arthur and the Invisibles' - From French director, writer & producer Luc Besson (The Fifth Element). Owes much to Jim Henson's 1982 film 'The Dark Crystal'. Features the voices of Madonna (an excellent Princess Selenia), David Bowie, Robert De Niro, Snoop Dogg, Harvey Keitel and Emilio Estevez. Stars Freddie Highmore and Mia Farrow. Highly likeable fare.
